2023-2024 Campaign
The Harengon of Rabbiton are threatened by an evil necromancer and a corrupt Mayor. Humans can't be trusted to help. It's up to us, the animals of the world!
Along the way, there will be opportunities to improve your skills, perform heroic feats, and develop friendships with those numbered among your companions.

2023 International Cosplay Day
Dungeons & Toast celebrated International Cosplay Day on Friday, September 11. Members competed in a contest to determine best Harengon character costume. Congratulations to Mistress of Coin Kelly S for coming in first place with her hand-sewn Maj costume, earning $25 Amazon credit to be used toward further costume improvements!
Thanks to all members who participated in the contest!
As part of the celebration, member Loni H shared about the process she uses to create detailed, recurring characters for cosplay.
Two Tone’s Story
This week (9/8) Dr. Michael gave the story of Two Tone a Pint-Sized Hero. The story was the first part of his “blog” on AI assisted writing and gaming. The AI version of the story is now available at Two Tone – A Pint-Sized Hero.
Dr. Michael will also be hosting a discussion of the experiment in Discord in the #blog channel on Discord. People are invited to offer comments (pro and con, this is about all of us learning what does and does not work for each of us), suggestions, and even requests (requests may include stories involving your own characters or non-player characters, alone or in conjunction with others).
The plan is to release two stories Saturday and Wednesday for four weeks.
Fashionable Backgrounds
Good evening everyone! Here are some fashionable and trendy backgrounds for our cosplay meeting tonight!

Using your Karats
Fellow Harengon players…you’ve done the work, and now you have some Karats to spend. But what should you do with that currency that is almost as valuable as real carrots?
They’re worth 10g each, so even with just the 50 karats you started with, that gives you 500g to spend on expensive mundane items or even magic items. If only the core books listed the costs of magic items, you could go on a shopping spree.
Now you can. The GMs have agreed on the following website as “definitive enough” for the Harengon campaign: https://www.kassoon.com/dnd/5e/magic-item-prices/
This site lists most items, and you are free to pick from the list, such as you can afford, within the limits of this being a group game, and the club wanting to keep things reasonable. (In other words, the answer to most questions is “yes” but if you find a +5 vorpal sword for 780g or 78 karats, check with us first.)
Also, if you find an item that isn’t on the list, contact Greg, and the GMs will confirm it and price it for you.
And of course, there will be a wide range of wonderful Officer Items for your perusal, coming soon!
Enjoy!
Announcing an Experiment
I am about to do a variant of the Pathways’ project “Write a Compelling Blog.” This will consist of 8 Harrengon stories told over the course of one month. This is an experiment, each of these will be generated with computer assistance, but in a variety of styles to show and share what the computer and I can do together. I will be creating a new discord category called simply “blog” under the Town Square I welcome comments, suggestions, and even requests (want an off-book background story for your character or characters?). Please help me with this experiment.
Backgrounds for Good Luck… or Bad
Enjoy these backgrounds for our meeting tonight! Hopefully they bring some good luck your way!
New Feature: Request Achievement Credit
It is now possible to request credit for most individual achievements earned from Education, Service, and Spirit quests! Logged in members will now see a Request Credit button that allows you to email the officer or committee chair responsible for the awarding of said achievement. A Notes field is provided in case you need to provide additional details. For example, if you notice that you are missing credit for having completed the Use a Special Event Background quest, you can use this new form to send an email to Master Scribe Angel L. to request credit:
Doing so will send an email to Angel with a link to easily approve or reject the request. This feature should assist members in requesting credit for completed quests from the appropriate officer or leader.
Eight Hands Open
Hello, humans of Dungeons & Toast,
The time has passed for saving money, yet money is still due. Toastmasters and club dues for the period
of October 2023 through March 2024 are due September 30, 2023. The total cost of dues for 6 months
is $65 ($60 to Toastmasters International and $5 to the club). As always, we don’t want to wait last
minute and battle with the internet gremlins. Therefore, if you pay your dues on or before August 31,
2023, you will receive 20 bonus XP.
Early Dues Renewal
Renew your dues within the month of February or August.
Until next time,
Kelly / Maj, Master of Coin
P.S. You may note that this was addressed to the humans only. All species are welcome to pay, but only human currency will be accepted. Any karats sent my way will be retained without benefit to you.
Cosplay Contest – Sept 8
In (belated) celebration of International Cosplay Day, Dungeons & Toast will host a cosplay-themed meeting at 7PM PT on Friday, September 8. Members are encouraged to dress in a costume to represent their character for the 2023-2024 TTRPG campaign, Warrens of the Harengon. Members’ choice* of costumes will win $25 in Amazon credit, intended to be used toward further costumes or accessories.
*While I will be making an appearance in the costume of Hana, my kitsune Warlock, I won’t be participating in the contest itself.
