This Friday, our Introducing Campaign Characters meeting will feature Table Topics designed to help players think through their new characters’ backgrounds, hopes, fears, goals, and other details that make them feel like real people rather than a collection of stats. You don’t need to have everything figured out already—these prompts are meant to help you discover more as you go.

We’ve also put together a gallery of virtual backgrounds based upon 25 character backgrounds in Dungeons & Dragons 5.5E. The collection includes everything from haunted rooms and hidden alleys to noble studies, carnival midways, pirate cabins, and remote wildernesses.
