It is the third day of Eleasis. The weather is hot but bearable. I had hoped to see my friends again, but not like this! There I was, staying at the Golden Heaven tavern in Daggerford, right after we stopped that obnoxious Marquess from overthrowing his mother. He’s in prison where he belongs, and the…

Nemril Ambrosious, my childhood friend and an up-and-comer in the world of wizards, and I chartered a ship to take us to the city of Oceanus. Little did we know that we were stormbound. On the way to Oceanus we were attacked by humanoid fish-like creatures that I had never seen before. The crew identified…
It was a lovely spring morning, and I was riding next to Marigold Fairheart, who is the lead animal handler for the Witchlight Carnival. It was a sunny day, and Marigold had made a delicious breakfast which we enjoyed on our way, along with some very pleasant conversation. Marigold was a very sweet lady and…
… as Moss Ropewalker, known as “Thorn” is coming more and more to the attention of the Gnome Council, I want to bring to your attention a report filed six years ago by his brother Elderberry Ropewalker, who currently serves on the General Council as Sergeant-at-Arms. The Witchlight Carnival, a travelling carnival with which I,…
– The Wretched Witch of the Tholothian Swamp Victory is mine. At long last, vengeance is mine. My adventures along the Sword Coast have certainly been exciting. My skills and my magic have kept me alive and fed where my bad fortune failed to bring me bread. But a return to the place where this…
The Orb of Davras seems, in recent days, to have developed a lot of discussion, without, of course, much truth behind it. I am Homer the Younger, a historian of the ancient artifacts, and I will, for the proper payment, disclose the truth, and having been paid properly, here it is: This is the true…
(Uncle Gar-Gar, this is so great!) (What is great, child?) (I’m in a tavern. I am with adults.) (If you insist…) While I’m thinking with Uncle Gar-Gar, my bag starts making a loud sound. I open it, and it’s that compass I got for the mission for the fancy object. [[ COMPASS ]] The other…
It is the 4th day of Nightal, 1495. One year has elapsed since the strange woman calling herself “Madame Mystery” predicted that I and others would be summoned to perform a large task. It appears that she was correct. I received a letter two tendays ago, asking that I help to locate something called the…
As the day for the Manticore Expedition to leave approached those watching noted several changes in the enigmatic figure that is the half-orc Guardian of the Vale, Uggh. Somewhere he acquired a pack horse which he led into the camp fully loaded. A powerful animal which some thought would be large enough to carry him,…
My name is Fionna Brightwind. I don’t know who my mother or father are; they left me on my church’s doorstep as a baby. I am 11 years old, and I am half-elf, half-human. My church’s priests have been kind to me, but they never saw an elf before, so I guess they don’t know…
I’m hanging out with these kids. Uncle Gar-Gar tells me that it’s good for me to meet other people because I never know what I might learn or when I might need to use them. So I play with them, doing silly things like go-carriaging or exploring the forest together. I don’t like being around other kids very much, though. Singk’lam and I skipped school once when I was getting bullied. That was before Uncle Gar-Gar. I don’t need to hide anymore. And I don’t need anyone.
Hi everybody, I'm Tarik, and I'm 6. My mommy is a half-orc, and my daddy is a human. They say that makes me a half-orc, but that doesn't sound right. They say I'll understand when I get older Maybe it'll be when I learn math.
Our little band of misfits had a grand adventure today. Our friend Juniper ran off chasing a squirrel or something and ending up running into this weird carnival and jumping into somebody’s wagon. When we tried to get her, they wouldn’t let us in because we weren’t wearing fairy wings, which this cool looking girl goat person said you get when you buy a ticket. Problem was, tickets were a gold piece each, and none of us had more than a few silvers.
When my parents were sent outside the Vale and I was permitted to accompany them, I knew that I was very privileged. All my friends were back in the Vale studying but I was able to meet new people of many different races, and make new friends. My first few months in the village were among the happiest of my life. I still spent most of my time studying, both academics and physical skills, but my parents made sure that I got to know other kids my age and spend time with them. They were an amazing bunch and after we all got to know Juniper we got very close. Hanging around with Karghen was very cool.
My entire life has been plagued with misfortune of some variant, but during my youth, I still had strings of good luck. A contributing factor in my decision to gamble for my living, as opposed to resorting to petty crime. And, all at once, it seemed as though Lady Luck had left me entirely. And I think I know when she took her leave.
“Hello! Get up and get out. We’re cleaning the rooms and it’s checkout time. If you want another night you’ll have to pay your silver at the front before you leave like everyone else.” Blinking groggily, it takes your eyes a moment to adjust to the bright light coming through the hole in the wall of your room that can only generously be described as a window. One could maybe say the same for the room - a 10 X 10 space with a small chamber pot and a pile of straw covered with stained shirts sewn together to create a sad cot. At least they’re changed daily.
Dungeons & Toast meets every Friday (except the last of the month) from 6:45 PM to 8:30 PM PT.
