Known only as “Want” since this Cthonic Tiefling was never given a name, he claims to have been “raised” by Fiends of all sorts, exposing him to virtually every type of evil. An “experiment” conducted by the more intellectual fiends (Mephistopheles and Baphomet) created him. After enduring all matter of evil, his memories of those events were wiped and he was transported to Thay to become an assistant to a minor royal. This duke was as evil as any Fiend, subjecting this Tiefling to all forms of cruelty. The Fiends and this fiend-thrall wanted to determine which form of evil is the strongest. For a time, after fleeing from his terrible conditions and giving himself the name Want, he continued his secret study of the occult, eventually forming a pact with the Archfey Oberon. Oberon restored his memories and taught him how to control the trauma. Vowing to use his curses (such as his tendency to involuntarily change his shape as well as his ethical outlook daily) to overcome his horrible upbringing, doing so by “committing the most evil act an evil being can commit: defying his superiors!” He has thus renounced evil but remains morally neutral since he is convinced that Good is as bad as Evil since he perceives good people as weak and hesitant.
