Meeting Role Guide
Scribe
Keep an accurate record of the evening’s achievements so every adventurer receives the XP and Gold they’ve earned.
The Role
Not every Dungeons & Toast achievement can be tracked automatically. As Scribe, you are the guild’s record keeper, watching for achievements earned during the meeting and recording them for the Master Scribe.
You’ll keep an eye out for things such as members wearing guild shirts or costumes, using on-theme backgrounds, bringing guests, and participating in Table Topics. At the end of the meeting, you’ll share your findings and give everyone an opportunity to correct anything you may have missed.
Before the Meeting
- Familiarize yourself with the achievements you’ll be tracking.
- Open the Scribe Ledger and make sure you’re ready to record achievements.
- Review the meeting participants so you can easily identify members as achievements are earned.
During the Meeting
- When called upon by the Toastmaster, briefly explain your role and what achievements you’ll be tracking.
- Watch throughout the meeting for qualifying achievements.
- Record each achievement and the member who earned it.
- Pay particular attention to:
- Guild shirts or costumes
- On-theme virtual backgrounds
- Members who bring guests
- Table Topics participation
- At the end of the meeting, deliver your report when called upon by the General Evaluator.
- Ask members to send corrections or anything you missed through the Zoom chat.
After the Meeting
- Review any corrections submitted in the chat.
- Make any necessary changes to your records.
- Submit the completed Scribe’s Report so the appropriate XP and Gold can be awarded.
